A Systematic Review of Virtual Reality Treatment Program on Patients with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Purpose The aims of this systematic review were to identify the study protocol Virtual Reality Therapy (VRT) and effect VRT among patients with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Methods This followed guideline Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). A literature search was conducted using 12 electronic databases including gray no limit publication year. Search terms included relevant regarding âPTSDâ, âtraumaâ, âVRTâ. Among 265 studies extracted through PRISMA, 20 selected evaluated quality assessment Risk Bias tool Cochraneâs collaboration. Results majority focused on combat veterans war situations (95%).Usually, each session usually took 60~120 minutes in 10~20 sessions 5~10 weeks. equipment contents individually designed considering patientsâ traumatic experiences. Most reported positive effects associated reduced levels PTSD (80%) related symptoms, such as, depression (45%) anxiety (25%). Conclusion Based our findings, further are required evaluate people PTSD, after improving design standardizing protocols.
